Mum and daughter duo Kath and Eve have opened their own brand-new salon in Uppermill, Avanti Hair.
The Mum & Daughter duo, Kath and Eve Thomson, decided to collaborate their talents and introduce a new hair salon to Uppermill’s High Street, located above Kobe Coffee Shop.
With 44 years of hairdressing experience combined, they both knew this was an opportunity not to be missed. Kath trained at Changes Hair Salon in Oldham before owning her own salon, Phase One, in Springhead, which she ran for 8 years.
During this time Kath gained a wealth of experience in hairdressing and management, she then decided to move on and worked at Triangle in Lydgate for a short time. Kath then made the move to the Queen Ann Gallery in Uppermill where she worked for 20 years, where she created not only a solid client base but also made a lot of friends.
Eve, Kath’s daughter, spent one year travelling in South America, and once returning to the UK she decided to continue her career in hairdressing. Eve trained at Toni & Guy in Manchester, before setting off on her travels.
She did two seasons backstage at London Fashion Week, as well as assisting the artistic team on shows and demos. She gained valuable knowledge and experience during her time at the popular Manchester-based salon, including entering and winning several competitions.
Eve has also styled hair for magazine shoots, and much of her work can be seen displayed around their new salon. Now being back in the UK, Eve and Kath decided there was no better option than combining their experience and opening their own salon.
Kobe is offering a 10% discount on food and drink to any client visiting the salon.
