The actress opened up about how the show’s storyline has adjusted in response forced changes in production due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Indeed, production on season four was shut down in March due to coronavirus concerns meaning the final episodes had not been finished.
Speaking during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 23-year-old revealed filming was set to begin in just a ‘few days.’
Lili explained: ‘We had two and half episodes left. We stopped in the middle of an episode. So when we go back we have to finish three days of one episode that we were filming in March.
‘So we’re all going to be significantly tanner…maybe I’ve gained weight during quarantine so I’ll look a little different.’

She continued: ‘Five months later, so I think it will be very easy to tell what was filmed in March and what was filmed in September!’
Then the conversation turned to season five as she revealed: ‘We’re actually doing a seven-year time jump into the future so we’re not going to be teenagers anymore.
‘I’m really psyched about it. I think it will be really nice to play an adult.
But I also really appreciate that Roberto [Aguirre-Sacasa], our showrunner, said let’s revamp. So we’re not just stuck in high school for seven seasons.’
The series left viewers on the major cliffhanger of Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) and Betty Cooper’s (Lili) secret kiss.
Riverdale airs on The CW in the US while the show is also available to stream on Netflix.
